Building and Energy Tools
Local governments need data about buildings and energy to develop and take action to reduce building energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. BayREN has developed two tools to help local governments with this work.
BayREN’s Existing Buildings Study provides local governments with information about the buildings in their jurisdictions, factors that influence their energy use and greenhouse gas emissions, actions that would best reduce energy use and emissions, and potential equity considerations.
The Bay Area Energy Atlas is one of the largest sets of disaggregated building energy data in the nation. The Atlas links actual metered energy consumption data with building characteristics, sociodemographic data, and other significant attributes.
